When I upload the file to my design software to cut it out, my objects have moved or disappeared.

This happens can happen for two reasons: 

1. You copy and paste your objects. 

-OR- 

2. You're using Inkscape and it has a bug with rotating ellipses (or Cricut Design Space has a bug, hard to say which one). Here are ways you can overcome this issue:

• Do not copy and paste anything for this assignment. Go back, remove anything you copied and pasted, re-draw your shapes, save the file, and try again.
• Make sure you have not grouped any items together in Inkscape (I have not taught you that yet). If the problem persists, try giving each of your objects the same fill color, such as a dark gray, then save again.
• Select all of the objects in your illustration software (Edit > Select All), then go to Path > Combine (in Inkscape) or Object > Compound Path > Make (Illustrator). I have not taught you how to use these tools yet, but this is a solution to fixing the issue so you can move on.
